Kinda expected since it would make less sense if he could dodge all that attacks but still...
I guess I was more optimistic, I thought once Vash and Nicholas appeared they'd be fine and out of danger.

Wonder if this means Milly Thompson will be returning? If there is only 2 eps left I imagine if we get season two Meryl will hire Milly as her bodyguard just like in OG trigun.
Milly wasn't her bodyguard!
Where did you get that from?!
Hello! If you are reading this, you are cordially invited to join our "Society for Roberto" political internet party. We understand the magnitude of the man that is Roberto De Niro and his role in the grand scheme of things. But it seems that not everyone is as enlightened as we are.
As a party, we formed just recently, in the wake of this episode. Our agenda is very simple:
1. We require an unconditional resurrection of Roberto.
2. We require his subsequent and inevitable ascension to divinity.
3. We require for Roberto to take his throne as the lord of all that is Trigun.
You can sign the petition here. Thank you for taking your time and giving your voice in the name of our Lord and Saviour De Niro.
he is still 79 and kicking xD
LOL
So we're at cloning now
Poor copy, and more annoying lol

Mitsuketa - I like when they say it like that
Knives' goal of making everyone "even" or "alike" is like wishing to a god to make everyone the same - and grey
it would be depressing as fuck, nobody would be original or different
Exactly!
This goal is fundamentally against why humans exist they should not be anything but they can never be the same as another this is humanity
I don't think thats his goal. Idk where you got that from. Hes only doing it to Vash cuz he wants to live with his brother again, and not go against him. He just wants freedom for his kind. We've seen this before in AI robot rebellions like Terminator or Irobot with Will Smith. Just Humans abusing their creations which gained sentience. As with anything with sentience, they hate being oppressed/enslaved.
Knives' being a controlling sociopath is three quarters of the cause for his brother's already existing intense PTSD, humans mostly thinking of plants as non-sentient resources the rest. And it's ironic to say that he wants freedom for his kind when he wasn't able to perceive his already extant one, nor accept and keep from infringing his brother's. Knives somehow ended up being born in the image of the most abominable and horrible individuals belonging to the human species and his reaction only explains some issues humans and humanoids(yes, him included) would always have, whether conditioned or via natural hazard of evolution, but still doesn't excuse them.
So we are in the events before the main story. Fucking knew people should have let studio orange cook.
On an additional note, despite knowing that they will kill Roberto to give character development for Meryl and to give way for Milly (if we're getting more seasons) I still sobbed. Seems they're going for the July incident as the climax, I hope we get more seasons. Good retelling of the story IMO.
much like the old show its very much its own flavor
I mean the manga is hardly in either of them give me more
This new naive reckless Meryl is a bit of a plothole since why would a company let a novice with little to no fighting experience follow a dangerous fugitive?
My bigger question remains: how does such a naive girl with no fighting knowledge and skill not only exist on their planet, even as pregnant women in the boonies can sharpshoot for their survival, but how would she get such a job in the first place?! These issues needed covering way before she was sent out to investigate someone like Vash, no matter how goofy he may look on the flyer. If he's not a real threat, desert bandits and worms, etc, would still be.
No, because the later interactions with Meryl and Nic wouldn't make sense
don't read this, for anyone who doesn't want to get spoiled
Do you mean with how we are in the past? I was using the July incident as the point of origin since the time after it is what they used as the starting point in the 98 anime and the manga. But everything could still make sense if what they did is they just changed the fifth moon incident with the July one. We're still getting a timeskip (a longer one here I guess), we get to see Vash as Ericks in the hiding, then Wolfwood finds him and they get reunited with Meryl (and Milly this time maybe), maybe we'll get the other Gung-ho-guns too.
I have a BIG feeling it's what they went for, given how Legato is still not in much action even though we are by the end of the season and he is one of the main villains. We also have a lot of hints that we are in the past - July still exists, the bounty for Vash is far too low, Elendira is a kid, Wolfwood JUST became a pastor with that contract, and it's the first time (?) that Meryl held a gun. they just used some parts from Trimax and tweaked them a lil bit in this though so I'm curious what they'd do in the future.
But if this show is going to end essentially were trigun starts it wouldn't make sense because in OG trigun Meryl would of recognized vash when they first met but she didn't believe he was the humanoid typhoon. In OG trigun they had never met, but if you're right and this is all taking place before the main story, then they have changed that. Idk either way I'll be happy if we get milly back.
We have to remember that this is a retelling and not a prequel. This is why we need more seasons. The events at the start here is the equivalent of the events in the OG before the timeskip except this is set in the past and I will assume that after this, they're jumping to the start of the timeskip. I only used the July incident as a point of origin to compare the original to this retelling, if I'm going to map the timeline of my thoughts, it's this: https://imgur(.)com/a/Rba7aTB or alternatively using the same point of intervals: https://imgur(.)com/a/UxyfkIA just delete the parentheses haha
Basically almost the same but no more 5th moon, we get July instead since it's almost the same event, both involves
Also would be very happy if we get Milly.
This story to me is just a sped up condensed version of Trigun:Maximum
-Knives is gathering Plants to make an ark
-Project SEED isn't lost technology, but humans trying to colonize other planets
-Gung Ho Guns are closer to their Maximum version (Elendira the Crimson Nail)
-The Fall
the build up here isn't the one for the ending though? it's very pre-5th moon although they did take some bits from volumes 3-6 and just changed them here and there. we still have a lot to explore like the complete backstory of vash and nai, it will be very disappointing if they're heading to the end immediately here. it's more like the first trigun manga with some parts from trimax idk
they clearly seem to be gunning for a season end that pushes for a green light for more
they do and i'd totally consume more trigun content so i hope they actually give us more!!
Idk, still doesn't look like a lot of things would fit unless they delete everything else.
yeah that's why i said they're changing the 5th moon with the july incident :/ they are deleting/combining some parts into one.
Well i guess it'd make sense if they change pretty much EVERYTHING but... Eh.
well episode 12 confirmed i am kinda right with this guess so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yep, but as i said, they had to change almost everything for it.
5th moon could still happen.... honestly anything can happen.... like season 2 starts after meryl survives..... reports back to job, gets sent out to find and follow vash with new partner milly.... only thing is that she will already have met vash but that doesnt really matter at all..... in the beginning she could be looking for vash and not believe its him even if she knows him .......she could just not recognize him at first maybe new hair style or changed his appearance like......you know......all while chasing him around but never getting close enough to get a good look type ep. till he saves them....then reunion....after they head out together meeting the other members of the giant family until they meet wolfwood again and start getting attacked by knives' people, 5th moon incident middle season or season 2 finale, legato incident season 3 vash vs knives season 3 finale..... obviously filling in more details of the crash, plants and cloning in between
maybe it will, since it plays an important role with vash regaining his memories. we'll just see what they'll do with the second season now that they dropped a huge hint that we're getting one.
yeah pretty much went how i commented last week... funny how they mention meryl being transferred to the insurance agency... wasnt expecting that since she is working for a newspaper or w.e, so i figured the new agency was going to send her to look for vash... honestly a more realistic storyline then the insurance angle to me..... thought that was funny in the o.g series.... wonder if they are going to pursue the comedy aspect of the show next season
Suffering, suffering and nothing but suffering: The episode
Looks like Vash is going to lose his human morals, going to become the very being of Apathy.
million knives VA yells of Vash always are on point
I thought i skipped an episode, but then they eventually came back to were we left off last week... that's quite the children Doc is creating, but I honestly enjoyed the soundtrack more than the actual cheap copy of Vash&Knives lol.
Next ep new Vash!!! Also RIP sensei, your time was honestly done a few episodes back XD.
cheap copy what the hell you on are saying all the characters are ass? don't tell me your one those idiots saying this shows a worthless copy of a not even manga accurate in itself 90's show
there is no rule, that a copy can't beat the original
R.I.P. Roberto
